Running through Laser Grid
This project was created over the course of four days, with around four hours of work each day, and explores death, respawn, and laser effects with a focus on gameplay-ready visuals. It all started with experimenting on a death effect that could realistically appear in a game. I ended up creating several variations, but the very first one stood out, so I decided to build a full showcase around it.
The respawn effect came next, designed to mirror the style of the death effect. To tie everything together, I needed a logical way to "kill" the character so lasers felt like a natural fit. What I didn’t expect was how much time I’d end up spending on them; they kind of became the centerpiece of the project.
I'm really happy with how it all came together and can genuinely see these effects working in a real game environment.
Big thanks to Johannes Burström for the great feedback I've gotten during this project!

Scratch modules for the lasers: "2 Vector Look At" calculates the velocity needed to send particles between two points, while "Spawn On Line" spawns particles randomly along the line.
