Insanis Echoes was the first big project I ever worked on, created as a high school project during our final year. I had always wanted to make a horror game, and I’ve also had a passion for retro games like GoldenEye and Metal Gear Solid. So, I combined both interests to create a horror experience with retro-inspired graphics and atmosphere.
This project was also my first real introduction to Scrum, backlogs, and roadmaps, teaching me how to plan and work in iterations. The entire process was an incredible learning experience, and I gained a much better understanding of how to structure and manage a game development workflow.
Making Insanis Echoes was a blast, but the best part was seeing how much people enjoyed it. We released the game on Itch.io, where it received a ton of love from players. And just recently, it passed 1,000 downloads, which has been incredibly rewarding to see.
